Data that we collect automatically
We automatically collect certain information when you visit our Website – such as the type of browser and operating system you are using, and your IP address. When you visit any website, the server has to know your IP address in order to send information to you. That IP address can reveal certain information about you such as your internet service provider and location. If you are concerned about revealing your IP address, you can use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service that will allow you to mask your originating IP because it will communicate to a different IP address to website hosts. We do not link this information with any Personal Data.
We may also collect data automatically through our use of cookies on the Website. Cookies are a standard part of website design and are used to remember things about a user to enhance their experience. For example, cookies remember links that you have previously clicked and change the color of those links. Since cookies are pieces of data stored on your computer (not on our server), you can disable cookies in your web browser if you do not wish us to utilize this information. Disabling cookies for all sites is not recommended as it may interfere with your use of some sites. The best option is to disable or enable cookies on a per-site basis. Consult your browser documentation for instructions on how to block cookies and other tracking mechanisms. Please also review our cookie policy.
Certain sections of our website and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit us, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of a certain section). No personal information is contained in or collected as a result of using these cookies or pixels.
2. Use of your Personal Data
We will only use your Personal Data when the law allows us to or where we have a legitimate interest to do so, as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation. A legitimate interest is where we use people’s data in ways they would reasonably expect and which have a minimal privacy impact, or where there is a compelling justification for the processing. Most commonly, we use your Personal Data to:
• process and manage your use of our website;
• respond to your questions, comments and requests;
• where you have opted-in to receive marketing from us, deliver communications that are relevant to your preferences / may be of interest to you;
• improve our services and Website through analysis of information.
3. Sharing of your Personal Data
We take your privacy seriously and will not share your Personal Data with others, except as permitted by applicable law or as set out below:
We share Personal Data as necessary with third parties who provide services or functions on our behalf and who require the information to provide those specific services to us. These third parties may include social media advertising platforms such as Facebook and Google Adwords for the purpose of custom audience generation and the development of targeting criteria for other audiences. Please note that we have appropriate data privacy safeguards in place with third parties with whom we share Personal Data as described above and who are providing services or functions on our behalf.
Currently we work with the following companies:
Bluehost – our web hosting company, whose servers are located in Orem, Utah, USA (their privacy policy can be found at www.endurance.com/privacy/privacy)
MailerLite – our email mailing list host (their privacy policy can be found at www.mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy)
BookFunnel – our distribution service for ebooks (their privacy policy can be found at www.bookfunnel.com/privacy)
We only work with companies that have strict policies and processes for data security, and do not grant permission to any third party to communicate with you unless this is specifically required in order for us to provide a service. For example, if you having an issue downloading a free book, you can contact BookFunnel directly to troubleshoot the problem, but BookFunnel does not have permission to send marketing emails to our customers.
In addition to the partners mentioned above, we participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. We will periodically mention a specific product, including our own books, and link to their website, clearly labeled as an “affiliate link”. We are paid a commission based on sales generated, but receive no details about individual purchasers. Also note that your prices are not impacted by utilizing the affiliate links. Amazon’s privacy policy can be found at www.amazon.com/privacy.
Our online presence also utilizes the “Facebook Pixel” developed by Facebook, Inc. (1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA). This feature makes it possible to track the behavior of users who have clicked on a Facebook ad and been directed to the website of the provider in question. The effectiveness of Facebook ads can then be assessed for statistical and market research purposes, which in turn can help optimize future advertising measures. Additionally, pixels pasted on each page of our website allow us to count visitors to those pages. The data obtained through this process is anonymous, meaning it provides no means of tracing the identity of any user. This information is stored and processed by Facebook on servers in Princeville, Oregon (USA), in order to facilitate a connection to each user’s profile. Facebook can then use the data for its own advertising purposes in line with its data usage guidelines (their privacy policy can be found at www.facebook.com/about/privacy). As a result, Facebook and its partners can insert ads both on and outside of Facebook. A cookie may also be stored on your computer for these purposes. In your browser’s settings, you can allow or deny cookies as a general rule. Please note, however, that doing so may prevent you from enjoying the full functionality of this website. No personal information is contained in or collected as a result of using these cookies or pixels.
Please use the following link to help you opt out of any remarketing pixels and technologies. www.optout.networkadvertising.org

5. Retention periods for use of your Personal Data
We will use and store your Personal Data only for as long as necessary, bearing in mind the uses of your Personal Data as described in this privacy policy and otherwise as communicated to you. We review the Personal Data we hold at regular intervals and delete permanently or anonymize any Personal Data which is no longer necessary.
6. Children
This Website and our services are aimed at adults, and we do not knowingly collect any Personal Data relating to children aged under 18 years old. If you are under the age of 18, please do not provide us with any of your Personal Data, including your email address.

• ask us to restrict the processing of your Personal Data;
• withdraw any consents you have given us to the processing of your Personal Data; and
• express any concerns you have about third parties’ use of your Personal Data.
Do Not Track (DNT)
What is DNT?
DNT is the concept that has been promoted by regulatory authorities, in particular the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), for the internet industry to develop and implement a mechanism for allowing internet users to control the tracking of their online activities across websites.
What is a DNT signal?
Currently, various browsers (including Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari) offer a DNT option that relies on a technology known as a DNT header that sends a signal to websites visited by the browser user about the user’s DNT preference. You can usually access your browser’s DNT option in your browser’s preferences.
Is there a DNT technology standard?
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has been working with industry groups, internet browsers, technology companies, and regulators to develop a DNT technology standard. While some progress has been made on this issues, it has been slow, and to date no standard has been adopted. Without an industry standard for DNT, users cannot know how any given company abides by a DNT signal they receive from browser headers.
How do we respond to the signal?
We take privacy and security very seriously in all aspects of our business. With regard to DNT, we currently don’t respond to DNT signals in browsers because no DNT standard has been adopted, as noted above.
Our third party partners, such as third party ad networks, may collect information about you and your online activities over time. These third parties may not change their tracking practices in response to DNT settings in your web browser and we do not obligate these parties to honor DNT settings. We utilize the “Facebook Pixel” for advertising purposes. If you would like to opt out of receiving targeted ads from Facebook, please visit : https://www.facebook.com/help/568137493302217
8. Change of purpose
We will only use your Personal Data for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If you wish to have an explanation as to how the processing for the new purpose is compatible with the original purpose, please contact us.
If we need to use your Personal Data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.
